- Hatch Homes Accelerator Ltd CLICs Volumetric Building System
hatch. is committed to delivering precision manufactured modular homes for the residential market.
The hatch. product “CLiCs” is a light gauge steel volumetric system designed for both Low Rise and Medium Rise buildings. It utilises a standard unit design approach for layouts but is flexible to enable external design in the local vernacular together with a recognition of the need for placemaking.
The unique hatch. CLiCs system has evolved from systems deployed for over ten years on multi-accommodation projects and is accredited to SCI and NHBC. The unique proposition of establishing a local factory, combined with our innovative product, will enable the supply of affordable, high quality and desirable homes for the community.
Hatch Homes Accelerator Ltd CLICs Volumetric Building System
The system comprises factory-built volumetric modules manufactured from cold- rolled light gauge galvanised steel c-sections.
The modules are manufactured from a series of standardised wall panels, floor and ceiling cassettes which permit a variety of internal layouts within the design rules to ensure adequate stability and robustness.
Connections are generally pinned joints and flat plate diagonal bracing in the wall panels to provide lateral stability
Durability Assessment: Minimum of 60 years
Limits of Scope
- Maximum 8 storeys subject to structural analysis.
- Bottom members in contact with foundations/sub-structure must be fully isolated from contact with moisture from the ground or external sources
- Masonry wall cladding cavities should be ventilated
- Conventional cladding, such as timber cladding, should have a minimum 25mm drained and ventilated back cavity
- Rendered external thermal insulation systems and/or insulated brick slip cladding systems applied to steel-framed structures must have a minimum 15mm drained back-cavity.
- Adequate sub-floor ventilation must be maintained to the void below the ground floor.
- The floor void below the ground storey modules must be sealed to prevent moisture entering the void (membrane + concrete oversite)
- Hatch Homes Accelerator Ltd. must be contracted for the design, manufacture, supply and erection of the structures.
- A chartered structural engineer suitably experienced in the design of this type of structure must be sub-contracted for the structural analysis and design.
