Horizon British Offsite Braintree, Essex – May 22nd

The Horizon Factory in Braintree, Essex, was abuzz with activity as industry leaders gathered for the BOPAS Forum and British Offsite Factory Tour. Hosted by British Offsite, the event began with a warm welcome and an overview from Shaun Weston, who highlighted the impressive efficiency gains of offsite construction, demonstrating a 20-30% increase in delivery speed.

The forum featured a presentation by Dirk Vennix on the history and formation of BOPAS, emphasising how BOS, LRQA, and BLP provide assurance and confidence in offsite solutions. The bi-annual forum served as a perfect platform to award BOPAS Certifications to several companies, acknowledging their commitment to excellence in offsite construction.

Round table discussions, facilitated by Tim Hall, Dan Gill, Eva Magnisali, Gaynor Tenant,  Samantha Ferneley, Matthew Egan and Fareita Udoh covered critical topics including economy and business planning, collaboration and standardisation, factory productivity, and skills training. These discussions aimed to address the challenges and opportunities within the Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) sector.

The event concluded with a networking session over a delicious spread provided by British Offsite, followed by an engaging tour of the Horizon Factory. Attendees left with valuable insights and renewed confidence in the future of offsite construction.

Looking ahead, the community is excited for the Offsite Expo in Coventry on September 17th and 18th, where BOS will co-host the Offsite Summit and Innovation Hub Challenge.
