By mutual agreement and following a ten year review, Buildoffsite Property Assurance Scheme (BOPAS) is notifying existing accredited companies and quoted customers that our founding member and partner for durability and maintenance assessments, BLP Technical Services, will be leaving the partnership as of 1 September 2024.
BLP Technical Services will provide a professional and orderly exit from the partnership and closure of all BOPAS related instructions. For existing clients BLPTS will continue to service all durability and maintenance assessments that are currently in progress, All current open quotations for durability and maintenance assessments will be available for acceptance by BLPTS until Friday 19th July 2024. Thereafter they will be processed by the new provider.
BOPAS is very grateful for the excellent provision and support BLP has provided to the scheme since it was launched in 2013. BOPAS was developed by BUILDOFFSITE, LRQA, BLP and RICS. as an assurance scheme to address concerns and perceived risks associated with innovative construction. Consequently, BOPAS is recognised by mortgage lenders and wider stakeholders as providing the necessary assurance that properties designed, manufactured and constructed by accredited providers using modern methods of construction (MMC) will be readily mortgageable for a minimum of 60 years.
Current accreditations will continue to be valid for the full term. As part of our ten year review we are refreshing our terms and conditions and look forward to advising the sector soon on next steps in the appointment of our new partner.
